Y4 - Mrs Farrington 2023 - 2024
My name is Mrs. Farrington and I teach Y4, supported by Mrs. Thomas. I have been teaching at our wonderful school since 1991. It is such a happy, family atmosphere here that once people come they usually stay! Previously I taught in Dudley in the West Midlands. I am originally from Redcar in North Yorkshire and I have always wanted to teach.
We share lots of our fun learning on the school twitter account each week. Please make sure you follow us on: @northwaymaghull
Contacting the Class Teacher
Please contact the school office via telephone or email and they will pass the message on to the class teacher.
Food and drink
Every child should have a water bottle that they can access at any time during the day. This bottle should be in addition to a lunch time drink, if they are on packed lunches.
Your child may bring a nut free healthy snack for morning play. This can be bread or fruit.
We have children with anaphylaxis, a life threatening condition that is caused by a severe allergic reaction to nuts. We ask you to help us protect these children by sending snacks for your child that do not contain nuts. Thank you for your co-operation with this. It is very much appreciated by the families of the children.
PE lessons will usually take place on Wednesday but please make sure your PE kit stays in school. ALL pieces of clothing, including school uniform and shoes MUST be named.
This half-term your child will not be bringing a spelling list home to learn. We will continue to work on the Year 3 and 4 common exception words in class but they will not be tested on them weekly. A copy of these is on their class page of the website. Please encourage your child to complete some spelling practise by accessing Doodle Spell, in addition to the Doodle Maths, Doodle Times tables and Doodle English, 3 times per week.
Please read with your child, regardless of their ability, at least twice per week and sign their home-reading record. Your child will need their reading book and record in school every day.
Children can also check if a book they have read from home has a quiz attached to it using the following website:
Your homework is to complete the Doodle tasks set for you each week.
