Y6 - Mrs Phillips 2023 - 2024
I’m Mrs Phillips and I have been teaching at Northway since 2008. As well as teaching, I am also responsible for English across the school along with Miss Stupples. I also run the school Drama Club. We work throughout the year to direct and produce a performance for the end of the school year. I love working at Northway as both the children and the staff work incredibly hard and the school has a huge team-work ethos which runs throughout the school. Our class is supported brilliantly by Mrs Hooton.
This half term we will have our PE lessons on a Monday. Please make sure that you have your PE kit in school and take your earrings out before the lesson if you are not able to do so in school. Can you also make sure that your child has school pumps for when we do indoor PE.
We share lots of our fun learning on the school twitter account each week. Please make sure you follow us on: @northwaymaghull
Contacting the Class Teacher

Children can also check if a book they have read from home has a quiz attached to it using the following website:
Your child will not be bringing a spelling list home to learn. We will continue to work on the Year 5 and 6 common exception words in class but they will not be tested on them weekly. A copy of these can be found in the downloads section below. Please encourage your child to complete some weekly spelling practise by accessing Doodle Spell.

Food and drink
Every child should have a clear plastic water bottle (with a sports cap lid) that they can access at any time during the day. This bottle should be in addition to a lunch time drink, if they are on packed lunches.
Your child may bring a nut free healthy snack for morning play. Please ensure that the snack is in their book bag so that they do not have to find it in their lunch bags.
- Bread or toast.
We have children with anaphylaxis, a life-threatening condition that is caused by a severe allergic reaction to nuts. We ask you to help us protect these children by sending snacks for your child that do not contain nuts. Thank you for your cooperation with this; it is very much appreciated by the families of the children.
