Y5/6 - Mrs Reardon 2025 - 2026

Mrs Reardon

Hello and welcome to our class page! My name is Mrs Reardon and I teach Year 5/6 along with the support of Mrs Mounsey & Mrs Hewitt. I have been teaching at our amazing school since 2009. I am responsible for maths across the school, along with Mrs O'Connor.

Contacting the Class Teacher

Please contact the school office via telephone or email and they will pass the message on to the class teacher.

We share lots of our fun learning on the school instagram account each week. Please make sure you follow us on: @northwaymaghull

Homework

Inside your child's home reading diary, you will find their username and password for them to access the following resources:

Times Tables Rockstars https://play.ttrockstars.com

Reading - Please read with your child, regardless of their ability, at least three times per week and sign their home-reading record.

To quiz on a school reading book, use our school’s AR site:

https://Ukhosted110.renlearn.co.uk/2243135

Children can also check if a book they have read from home has a quiz attached to it using the following website:

https://www.arbookfind.co.uk/default.aspx

Spellings - Your child will not be bringing a spelling list home to learn. We will continue to work on the Year 5 and 6 common exception words in class but they will not be tested on them weekly. A copy of these can be found in the downloads section below. Please encourage your child to complete some weekly spelling practise by accessing Doodle Spell.

Some children (though not all) may also have log ins for a Nessy account: Nessy https://learn.nessy.com/account/login#/accountLogin

PE

This half term we will be swiming on a Monday. Please make sure that you bring your kit into school each week and take your earrings out before the lesson if you are not able to do so in school.

Food and drink

Every child should have a water bottle that they can access at any time during the day. This bottle should be in addition to a lunch time drink, if they are on packed lunches.

Your child may bring a nut-free healthy snack for morning play. Please ensure that the snack is in their book bag so that they do not have to find it in their lunch bags.

Healthy snack:

  • Fruit
  • Bread or toast

We have children with anaphylaxis, a life-threatening condition that is caused by a severe allergic reaction to nuts. We ask you to help us protect these children by sending snacks for your child that do not contain nuts. Thank you for your cooperation with this; it is very much appreciated by the families of the children.
